Museums Other than the Met in NYC
AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
Hayden Planetarium Show: It is my hope that during my brief passage through this universe, I may share with you the joy of hearing the music of the stars. Knowing that the composer was from a distant place and the songs were written eons ago, they now fall gently on this place for all to hear.
Family Butterfly Vivarium: Biologically, the only difference between moths and Butterflies is how hot they are; let’s look at the chosen ones and gleam. Make this a 24hr Date with a suite at The Pierre, a late-night room service dessert, & breakfast at Perrine, followed by a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park?

AQUARIUM: Underwater, in the dark, blue light on our faces as we stare. You wonder what captures my attention as you stare at my aquamarine eyes.
COOPER HEWITT, SMITHSONIAN DESIGN MUSEUM: housed in the historic Andrew Carnegie Mansion, it glimpses a time of decadence that shaped America through the Gilded Age. A peek into the opulence of America’s gilded past. Make it an Overnight with a walk through Central Park, a nightcap at Bemelmans, and a suite at the Carlyle.
NEW YORK HISTORICAL SOCIETY: the oldest museum in New York City. New York City history via artwork, manuscripts, and furniture. Dinner in the Museum at “Clara” Kawabun’s first branch outside Japan, named after Clara Driscoll, who was in charge of the women’s glass-cutting department at Tiffany Studios from 1892 to 1909.

MOMA: Modern masterpieces, then a chef’s table at The Modern downstairs. A jaunt across the street leads us to a nightcap in the Grand Salon at the Baccarat. Make it 24hrs with a suite where art and romance intertwine.
NEUE GALERIE NEW YORK: Located in the William Starr Miller House, a restored Gilded Age mansion and offers a backdrop to the exquisite art by Klimt and Schiele. Let’s stare at “The Kiss” and ponder our plans for the night.
PRIVATE MET-MEMBER MORNINGS: A discrete and quiet option with the ability to enjoy the Met museum without tourists, large crowds, and rushed congregations. Enter the Museum early on Saturdays and Sundays, 9-10 am, to appreciate select exhibitions before public hours. Available only to Members.
LOCAL/PRIVATE ART COLLECTION VIEWINGS: Pop-up galleries are available for short periods or private art displays in more intimate settings. Make it an Overnight at The Beekman, where we can have a private dinner in their Turret Penthouse.

FEDERAL RESERVE: Look at a literal pile of gold. One of the only banks that holds gold reserves in its archives. It only offers private tours that need to be reserved in advance. Make it a 24-hour date with a night at The Conrad Downtown, with views of the Statue of Liberty, and dinner in the hotel’s ATRIO Wine Bar & Restaurant; in the morning, walk to the port for a sail around Manhattan.
MORNING AT THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM: Designed by architect Charles McKim Architect for the former Penn station. Curator-led tour details collection of rare books, manuscripts, and art. Finish with High Tea at The Morgan Dining Room, early twentieth-century dining with contemporary notes.
